d303 Mothers' bread

Picture

D303 Mothers' Bread cards were issued in 1916 by the New Orleans branch of the General Baking Company. These cards are identical in design to the E106 American Caramels and the D303 General Baking Co. sets, but they feature an advertisement for Mothers' Bread of New Orleans, LA. on the reverse. Mothers' Bread are so rare they are totally “off the radar” of most collectors. There is no question that they are considerably rarer than the related General Baking or American Caramel issues.

The Waldorf School of New Orleans (formerly The Hill School) is a private school founded by Suzanne Hill based on the Waldorf philosophy. Founded in 2000, Waldorf School of New Orleans (formerly The Hill School) is located in the heart of the Irish Channel neighborhood of New Orleans. The school is located in an early 20th century bread factory that has been renovated into a loft-like setting. The school offers a developmentally appropriate, experiential approach to education, integrating the arts and academics for children from preschool through 8th grade. In 2005, the school's buildings were flooded in Hurricane Katrina.
